Carving out her first ever clay sculpture

Carving out during the art classes in Birkdale is Michaela. The sculpture is built solid and then once completed we make a cut as in a window to hollow it out. The reason we do that is that it makes it lighter to transport. Most importantly of all is we make sure that there are no air bubbles which will cause the sculpture to crack in the kiln
