Sacred Heart School Commission

Sacred Heart School Commission Georgette Schwantes to Sculpture Jesus. December 2009

Dear Georgette,
We were looking at incorporating a large life-size sculpture of Jesus at the Sacred Heart in our school grounds playground, sitting down on a ‘block’ with maybe some blocks beside him where the kids could sit too.
It would need to robust enough to take some contact with kids. We’re also open to some input from you as to what you’d see work. We are open to a certain amount of creativity and want whatever we create to be contemporary, child friendly and a place where children can gather, sit, reflect and enjoy their time at school.

I’m not even sure if this is an area into which you want to delve but would appreciate a reply as to whether this type of commission is in your field and whether you’d be prepared to explore it further.

I eagerly await your reply.

Yours faithfully,
