“What has sculpting meant to you?” I get answers like:
“It helped me through a stressful time.”
“I’ve made wonderful friends.”
“I never thought I could be artistic.”
“It’s my favourite day of the week.”
“It’s become my happy place.”
The joy of creating is written all over Jeanette’s face. đ
Jeanette is currently bringing this delightful wombat to life, and seeing the smile on her face reminds me why I love teaching clay sculpting. Every sculpture begins with a simple lump of clay, but with patience, imagination, and encouragement, it slowly develops its own unique personality. Watching that transformation is always a privilege.
My Birkdale studio has been welcoming students for the past 26 years, providing a friendly and supportive place where people can relax, make new friends, and discover just how creative they can be.
đ Art vouchers are available and make a wonderful gift for someone looking for a creative experience. They can be used for clay sculpting classes or towards any original sculpture in my adjoining gallery, where over 40 one-of-a-kind works are on display.
Sometimes the happiest moments aren’t about finishing a sculptureâthey’re found in the joy of creating it.
