During her art class Karina sculpted the Goddess of Mercy

Karina during her art class is carving out – her first sculpture of a lady, which started off just as a head and then Karina loved sculpting so much, that she decided to add a body to it.  The sculpture is of a female buddha Guan Yin and is an East Asian bodhisattva – associated with compassion and venerated by Mahayana.  Buddhists and followers of Chinese folk religions, also known as the “Goddess of Mercy” in English.
